About Conexión

OUR History

In the fall of 2005, a group of Boston social entrepreneurs was discussing the nexus between the new demography and the economic complexities the country faces. That discussion leads to an initiative to create a channel to identify and fast–track HispanicLatino talent ready to accept the increasing responsibilities to ensure our communities, organizations, and the country thrive and prosper in the future. The initial impetus for the creation of CONEXION is the growing demand for HispanicLatino talent on the part of forward–thinking companies and organizations across all sectors.

What began as a response to a moment in time has since evolved into a nationally recognized organization, continually developing leaders who are grounded in their values, informed by their lived experiences, and equipped to drive change across every sector of the economy.

OUR Mission

To develop a pipeline and network of purpose-driven leaders, equipping corporations, nonprofits, and government to effectively address the implications of the nation’s changing demographics, to the mutual benefit of the individuals, organizations, and society as a whole.

Our Model

CONEXION’s model is built on the concept of Social Capital“…social networks have value”. What we saw missing for many people who are at the margins is a lack of access and Conexiónes, or reciprocal networks of value. We created a model that would be intentional about making bridging conexiónes (through the mentors) and bonding networks of value (through the other mentees in the cohort). CONEXION model is Social Capital in action!
