Ive Peña Gonzalez

Ive Peña Gonzalez is a dynamic and visionary leader with over 25 years of experience at the intersection of diversity, equity and inclusion and strategic human resources. Known for building lasting partnerships, she has successfully developed and executed enterprise-wide diversity, equity and inclusion programs, talent acquisition solutions, talent management strategies and employee engagement initiatives that build culture, strengthen retention and belonging and drive impact.

In her current role as Chief Engagement Officer at Eastern Bank, Ive leads the design and execution of the Company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy embedding inclusion and fairness into organizational processes, operations and culture. Her work advances the Bank’s strategic goals by fostering a workplace where every voice is valued, and colleagues experience a genuine sense of inclusion and purpose. She brings a people-centered, results driven approach to everything she does, seamlessly blending data, storytelling and collaboration. Her leadership style is marked by authenticity, empathy, and a deep commitment to impact both at Eastern Bank and the communities they serve.

Ive holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor in Business Administration from Merrimack College and a Master of Arts degree in Management Communication from Emerson College. Deeply rooted in her community and an advocate for equal opportunity, she is a founding member of Conexión, and proudly serves on multiple boards and advisory councils including the Center for Collaborative Leadership at UMASS Boston, the Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) Corporate Advisory Board, the MA Bankers Association diversity and inclusion committee, and previously served as Board President of LifeScene. She is also a past board member of La Vida Scholars and KIPP MA.

As a first generation Dominican American, her values and deep sense of community were shaped by being raised in the multicultural city of Lynn Massachusetts, nurtured by a big loving family. She is a proud mother of two children, loving wife and dog mom to two.
