Nancy Huntington Stager

Nancy Huntington Stager has dedicated 30 years to actively shaping Eastern Bank‘s culture and social responsibility reputation. As Chief HR Officer and later as President & CEO of the Eastern Bank Foundation, she forged partnerships across nonprofit, for-profit, and government sectors, championing community vibrancy and economic inclusion & mobility in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.

Under her leadership, the Foundation’s mission expanded to advance social and economic justice, focusing on five interconnected strategies: fostering vibrant communities, advancing equity in the small business ecosystem, enriching early childhood development, ensuring safe and affordable housing, and promoting workforce development for adults. Nancy is a long-time partner with Conexión, standing as an unwavering ally and advocate for equity and justice. Her efforts have been especially impactful in addressing the needs of Latine, AAPI, Black, and LGBTQ communities.

During her tenure, Eastern donated more than $180 million in grants and Bank colleagues contributed 750,000 volunteer hours to the community, reflecting her leadership and deep commitment to philanthropy and civic engagement. Now retired, Nancy runs Riverwood Consulting LLC, where she assists mission-driven leaders and organizations in strategic alignment and leadership development. Her legacy is one of inclusive advocacy, collaborative leadership, and enduring community impact.
